You would think that being surrounded by old friends and family would make it easier to handle being separated from my husband while he's deployed. It doesn't. I know it's petty. I know I'm just being jealous. Yet, knowing that doesn't change the fact that seeing my married roommates spending time together every day and seeing my friends go about their business as if life hasn't changed (and to be fair, for them it really hasn't), makes me feel extra alone.

So, instead of staying in Chicago where everything is familiar and where all my friends are, I'm moving back to Florida with my dad. I love my dad to death, but in all honesty he's just as alone as I am right now. I don't have to worry about everyone having plans and leaving me to entertain myself. And yet I don't have to worry about missing out on plans to talk to my husband. I don't think the deployment is going to be easy in Florida, but it will certainly be easier than it is here.

I know that none of this really matters to anyone who might stumble upon my DeviantArt page, but I needed to kind of express what I was feeling. Sad as it might seem, none of my friends or family ever (and I mean EVER) check any of my art sites. For once, it works to my advantage.

I will throw in a bit of art-related news. My Wacom is fixed! And I've been working extra hard on something I'm really proud of. I hope to have it posted before I move back to Florida.
